Before the LIPO Park project, LIPO Park Schaffhausen Site Manager Dirk End had no experience on TENLOC. “Compared to the other solutions we’ve tried, it is so good and easy to use that from now on we’ll have it for all precast walls,” End says. “It’s instantly stiff – and there is no better system on the market,” he adds.
“With TENLOC, you also get rid of propping the walls. The benefit is two-fold – you save both manpower and money, and create a safer, unobstructed worksite,” adds Gregor Schabrun of Peikko Switzerland.
Developed for fast and effective construction
In projects like LIPO Park football stadium, BIM (Building Information Modeling) is used to exchange and network data with all stakeholders to meet tight budgets, limited manpower and accelerated schedules. “The problem with conventional wall connection solutions is that they aren’t well enough documented to be utilized in BIM”, says Schabrun. “During the development phase, we went into great pains to ensure that TENLOC and its documentation are compatible with BIM. As an industrialized and standardized product, TENLOC is easy to incorporate to your overall BIM integration.”
The ingenious latch system of TENLOC is rotated with a hex wrench by hand. When the latch clasps the opposite reinforcing steel and is tightened up, the joint is properly tensioned. A non-load connection is established within seconds with a visual proof of the security.
An innovative combination of business and pleasure
LIPO Park boasts a full-scale soccer stadium with 8,000 seats and a retail and business area of 10,000 m2. The 700 m2 open space VIP hall for up to 600 guests has been created with DELTABEAM® Slim Floor Structure, making it the largest rentable facility for events in the Schaffhausen area. Along the main building, there is also a 1,000 m2 terrace.
Ground floor will be rented for retail, office and restaurant functions. The anchor tenant in the business area is the Swiss furniture giant LIPO Einrichtungsmärkte AG.
Precast structure means massive time savings
For about € 55 million, the multifunctional football stadium will be constructed in just 18 months. The work began on August 28, 2015 and will be completed in February 2017, while the retail and business area will be opened already in November 2016.
Apart from TENLOC Panel Connectors, LIPO Park is constructed using DELTABEAM® Composite Beams and composite columns. The Peikko delivery is a key part of the 2,500 tons of steel incorporated into the building. “The combination of TENLOC with precast walls and DELTABEAM® with hollow-core slabs is outstanding,” Site Manager End points out. “Had the developers chosen a cast-in-situ structure for the project, the construction phase would have been at least a year longer,” Schabrun claims.
